thanksgiving recap
I have fantastic news, my friends: only three weeks until Christmas break. Yippee! Thanksgiving was wonderful, but it only serves as a vacation tease for my two weeks off at Christmas. We enjoyed wonderful food, lots of laughs, and excellent company in the mountains.
There was a lot of pool playing:
With fake money…
Hammock swinging:
Some snuggling:
Oh, and a waterfall search:
The trip was lovely. Well, the waterfall search was an ordeal. I picked out a trail in our guide book that was marked “easy.” Easy to find, easy to walk… yeah right. It was not well marked so we drove FOREVER. And the easy hike along the path lined with “rhododendron and wildflowers”? Not so much. We survived though and got some good exercise in the process. Reese loved it. Can’t you tell?
As is our luck, little Boo came down with a hacking cough on Thursday, which was followed by fever on Friday, and oozy ears on Saturday. We made a stop at the pediatric clinic yesterday, and yes, we have a double ear infection.
Shoot.
This week we are unpacking, decorating for Christmas, and trying to get organized for gift shopping. I have bought nothing at all. Oh well. Every year this happens, and every year I get it all done. Somehow!
